Twitter Video Tutorials

I understand the videos here are a little small for viewing at times. You can simply click the title at the top of the video and the full size video will pop-up at YouTube.com and then you can go full screen from there if you like.

First things first how to create your own personal background in Twitter

For those you just starting out or want to increase your Twitter following in any niche market, below is a video on learning how to do it manually.

Manually might take a little bit longer, however, you will have more control over many of the automated systems out there as well as give you time to build relationships with your followers. Since Twitter is a type of social media, staying social and building relationships is key to overall success.

Follow Friday (#FF) Tips

The following are different tips I pass down for helping you out with Follow Friday on Twitter or as many know it as #FF. If you haven’t heard of this it’s simply that on Fridays on Twitter you collect up some of your favorite, closest or maybe want to be closer Tweeps that are following you on Twitter and simply put #FF or #FollowFriday in your Tweet line and mention them.

I’ve seen many people load up with about five or six mentions in one string and just simply tweet it out with the #FF hash tag. I have started a process not too long ago to only mention one person at a time and personalize it a little bit more. I do not know if it makes it anymore effective as far as your followers starting to follow them, but I do know my followers appreciate it a lot more that I took the time to personalize it in regards to them. It shows that I know a little bit about them and they feel more touched that I remember.

The first video is if you have your Twitter linked to your Facebook account. It simply shows you how to keep your Facebook status posts from getting cluttered up with Follow Friday. The second video here is a little tip I came up with that I use to organize who I’m going to mention on Follow Friday by utilizing the lists feature built into Twitter. Thirdly, how to easily tweet out and identify your friends for follow Friday if you’re having a tough time with that. Lastly by far my best tip for Follow Friday and how to really lock in your followers.

The Twitlet bookmarklet will add functionality to your browser allowing you to tweet anytime and from any site without having to log into Twitter or switch to a different Twitter client.

The latest feature to be added to Twitter in March 2010. You now get a mini profile view when you cursor over someone’s user-name in Twitter.

    Hi John

Finished ALL the video’s thanks again.

I looked around in twitter help but can’t the following:

    1. When I RT a message and want to add some words, how do I do this? Normally I clicked the retweet and this RT the message but then I can’t add anything.

    2. I don’t understand the @…, is this just a DM to someone??

    Thanks have a super day!!

      Werna,

!) If you’re using Twitter.com and click on their Retweet button to retweet button you won’t be able to add anything. However, this is an option if you use a 3rd party program like tweet deck, it will ask you when you RT if you want to use twitter’s Retweet without adding anything or if you want to do it the old fashioned way and add something.

If you want to add something to the tweet when using twitter.com you have to reply to the person, add RT to the beginning before the @ and then copy and paste their tweet you can then add a | at the end and add your comment if you like.

      2) When you put an @ in front of a user name such as @johnrwoodman this makes the tweet a mention to that person. You’ll see this in public conversations, Follow Friday messages and RT’s. Using an @ still allows everyone to see it. For a DM it would be ” D @username ” for it to be private. Generally you only see this on some of the cellphone programs anymore, and that makes the conversation private.

Hope this clears it up for you.

      If not let me know

      John
